Most commercially available bird seed mixtures and many pelletized diets are loaded with sunflower seeds. They make a very inexpensive filler and seem innocuous enough but the oils contained in the seeds react differently with a bird's chemistry. "Tupac" enjoys his boogie board. We sold Tupac 11 years ago and still see him regularly when he comes in for a nail trim.
"Snoopy" is our store mascot, a 15 year old African Spur Thigh Tortoise. He's just the sweetest and the kids adore him!
